History

The Planet Hollywood Las Vegas was originally opened in 1963 as the Tally-Ho. It was later called King's Crown in 1964. In 1966, the King's Crown was purchased, and after major renovations was reopened and renamed the Aladdin Hotel.

On June 20, 2003, a partnership of Planet Hollywood and Starwood Hotels purchased the Aladdin, which was in bankruptcy.

On April 12, 2004, Planet Hollywood and Westgate Resorts announced plans to add a 52 story time share to the site. The building will contain 800 2 bedroom suites that, while unsold, will be available to the Westin hotel. The time share building will be connected to the existing complex at the performing arts theater and the mall.
