Maxim Casino
The now defunct Hotel & Casino on Flamingo & Koval Aves just east of the Las Vegas Strip. It may be best known as the site of the shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur in 1996.Shakur was a passenger in a BMW that was driving in front of the casino when a man in a Cadillac pulled up and opened fire, gravely wounded the rap star who died a week later on his injuries. The hotel/casino itself was closed in 1999, reopened soon afterwards as a hotel only after failing to obtain a gaming license, then closed for good in August 2001.
